Job Description:
Position Summary Directs, supervises and coordinates production in assigned area.
Assures timely and efficient fulfillment of screenprint, sample caps, injection molding and transfers.
Primary
Responsibilities:
o Plans, supervises, directs and engages in daily production operations and anticipates production problems (i.
e.
, material shortages, equipment malfunctions, rush orders, etc.
) such that loss of work hours is minimized and production and quality objectives are achieved.
Utilizes skills, work hours, material and work flow to achieve production and quality objectives; exchanges timely information with other supervisors on interdepartmental product flow and work force needs.
Implements cross training between departments for more efficient product flow.
o Instructs, trains, orients, motivates and otherwise assists employees so that production and quality objectives are achieved.
Participates in the selection/interview process to fill worker positions and appraise employee performance.
Recommend promotions, transfers and work assignments.
Promote team work and TQM practices.
o Provide information to Department Manager, Research and Development, and/or branch mechanics in their efforts to diagnose tooling and equipment malfunction; initiate efforts aimed at effecting cost reductions, work simplification, or improvements in methods or equipment work aids.
o Supervise departmental safety and housekeeping practices and maintain a constant alert for hazardous conditions; respond to employee injuries by administering first aid, issuing medical authorization forms, investigating accident causes and recommending means to prevent accident reoccurrence.
o Keep employees informed of company rules and regulations and production and quality expectations.
Issue warnings and other approved disciplinary measures when necessary.
Encourage employee communication and endorse an open door policy.
o Maintain professionalism and stay abreast of new developments through contacts with publications, vendors and in-house management training.
o Communicate with Sales staff and/or customers as needed to understand manufacturing methods, answer questions regarding customer orders, etc.
Qualifications Basic:
o High School Diploma or GED; or, equivalent combination of education and experience o 2 - 5 years related working experience (operations, manufacturing, leadership, etc) o Ability to attract, retain, motivate, coach and develop associates o Good verbal and written communication skills o Good computer skills including MS Word & Excel Preferred:
o Bachelor's Degree in Business, Industrial Engineering or related field.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
